Charges for dental treatment
The price for dental treatment is set by the government. Charges for treatment are the same no matter which dental practice you go to. The amount you pay depends on the treatment you need. You will only be asked to pay one charge for each complete course of treatment even you need to go to the dentist more than once.
Band 1 course of treatment - £19.70
This covers examinations (including X-rays), diagnosis, advice on how to prevent further problems, and a scale and polish if needed.
Band 2 course of treatment - £53.90
This covers everything listed in band 1, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canals, or if the dentist has to remove teeth.
Band 3 course of treatment - £233.70
This covers everything listed in band 1 and 2, plus crowns, dentures or bridges.
You may be eligible for free NHS dental treatment, to check if this applies to you, please click here.
