Women and girls do less exercise than men – but many women say that they want to be more active. Research has found that a fear of being judged – mainly on appearance or ability – puts women off exercising.
It is important to find physical activity fun and to build it into your day to day routine to help you keep going. Try and choose an activity that is suited to what you find enjoyable – you can even take an online test to discover what sport is right for you.
Exercise does not have to be expensive either – there are lots of things you can do here in Bradford for free! You could start off by joining in the Bradford 5k ParkRun, every Saturday, 9am at Lister Park or downloading free exercise apps for your smartphone.
You can learn more about exercise and your health on our self-care pages.
