Parent and child bonding
Throughout childhood, and especially up to the age of three, it is really important to develop a strong bond with your child. A strong bond is vital to your child’s development and has a clear link to education, behaviour and future employment.
A child’s attachment to you can develop from how to you interact with them when they are distressed. From the age of six months onwards infants develop their own behaviours and can anticipate your response.
Making the time for positive interactions which develop a strong bond with your child also fosters a sense of security and positive self-esteem.
