Improved access for district’s contraception and sexual health services
Improved access for district’s contraception and sexual health servicesThe location of contraception and sexual health services across the Bradford district is changing to improve access for residents.
Services will no longer be available at their existing locations from Friday 31 July.
Services will be available from a central hub, initially delivered from the Hillside Bridge Health Care Centre and five community based sites from Monday 3 August.
Sexual health services will also be available at Farfield Group Practice in Keighley, Bevan Health Care on Piccadilly, Canalside Health Care Centre in Bingley, Windhill Green Medical Centre in Shipley and Bowling Hall Medical Practice on Rooley Lane.
The service at Hillside Bridge Clinic will be available from Monday to Saturday. Other opening times will be confirmed closer to the change of service date.
Anyone wanting to access contraceptive or sexual health screening services can either visit a clinic or telephone the new 030 3330 9500 number to book an appointment. The existing number will also divert to the new number.
Those currently using sexual health or contraception services before 31 July will continue to have their issue dealt with by the same staff but may be informed of a change in location from this date.
Anyone requiring emergency contraception over that weekend should contact their GP or local pharmacy.
The improved access is part of a transfer of services to Locala who were recently awarded the contract for contraception and sexual health services across the Bradford district.
