The People's Board

The People's Board champions patient and public participation across both Bradford City and Bradford Districts CCG. The board make sure that patients and the public have a voice and - through challenge, support and co-production - are able to work with, and influence how, the CCG delivers it's vision.

The idea grew from our involvement with patients, carers and the public which has been happening since the CCG's were established in 2013. The People's Board became operational in January 2016.

The group emerged after working with an independent facilitator, members of the community, our patient networks, engagement leaders, stakeholder partners and CCG members. The group chose the name, shaped the overarching aims and helped design a nomination and recruitment process. As a result we selected 18 members of the public covering the area covered by Bradford City and Bradford Districts CCGs.

The board works with Bradford City and Bradford Districts CCG's on policy and service design. Key areas of work include:

  • influence: creating two-way dialogue to inform the CCGs’ decisions
  • greater transparency: holding the CCGs to account and improving feedback
  • involvement and reach: making sure we hear and involve all Bradford communities
  • effective activity: building trust to have effective discussions and actions.
