Dr Anne Connolly
GP lead for maternal and child health
Having survived a two year posting to a mission hospital in rural Zimbabwe, Anne returned to General Practice in Bradford in 1990 where she helped develop a leading edge teaching practice whilst raising her four children. She has recently made the move to work with the team at Bevan Healthcare, in the centre of Bradford, providing healthcare for those who find this most difficult to access; including asylum seekers, refugees, homeless and sex workers.
Over the years Anne has developed enhanced skills in gynaecology and contraception and has worked as clinical specialty lead commissioning services for maternity, women’s and sexual health for Bradford and Airedale since 2006.
With her passion for improving the delivery of women’s health care in primary care through education and the sharing of best practice Anne is the chair of the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum, Vice President (membership) for the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and is a women’s health representative for the RCGP.
Anne’s board role for Bradford City CCG includes leading on the work of transformation of maternity and child healthcare.
