Health and wellbeing board

The Bradford and Airedale health and wellbeing board (HWB) brings together key people from the health and care system to deliver a more integrated approach to health and social care.

The HWB was set up by Bradford Council in 2012 as part of the Health and Social Care Act. To support an integrated approach, the HWB:

  • Assesses the needs of our local population through a joint strategic needs assessment (JSNA).
  • Drives local commissioning of health care, social care and public health to create a more effective and responsive local health and care system.
  • Has strategic influence over the commissioning decisions of our CCG.

The Bradford HWB approves area-wide strategies for transforming health and social care, such as our Five Year Forward View for Bradford District and Craven and Better Care Fund planning.

You can find further information about the Bradford HWB including details on its members, agendas and minutes on the Bradford Council website.
